Jessica Loughlin

Glass, Sculpture, Teaching, Wall work

Jessica Loughlin's glass wall works are elegantly minimal responses to the wide, open spaces of the Australian landscape, especially the salt lake areas of South Australia. Each piece poetically transforms her exploration of time and visibility into visual meditations that instantly appeal for their subdued colour palette and highly refined finish. The accomplished glass artist may have a quietly understated approach to kiln-formed glass production, but her technical skill is expert and sharp, honed by many years of professional practice.

Melbourne-born Loughlin graduated from Canberra School of Art in 1997 and has since been represented in over 50 national and international exhibitions. She has twice won the Art Gallery of Western Australia's Tom Malone Art Prize and her work is held in a number of prestigious public and private collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, National Gallery of Australia and New Mexico Museum of Art, US.
